Respite Services
Respite services for children and youth provide temporary relief for families caring for individuals with special needs, allowing caregivers to take a break and recharge. These services offer a safe and supportive environment for children and youth to engage in recreational activities, socialize with peers, and receive personalized care. Respite providers are professionals who ensure the well-being and comfort of individuals in their care, promoting independence and enhancing overall quality of life.
Respite Service Information

Number of Hours
Our respite services offer a minimum of three hours per visit, providing parents and caregivers with a temporary break and support. Each visit can extend up to a maximum of 12 hours, allowing for flexibility in scheduling based on the needs of the family. The number of weekly hours for respite care can be determined collaboratively between the family and their dedicated respite provider, ensuring a customized and tailored approach.

Hours of Service (Daytime Only)
The family will work together with their respite provider to establish a collaborative schedule for the services. This includes determining the preferred days and times for the respite care, which can be scheduled during daytime, evening, or weekends based on the family's needs and availability. However, our respite services are specifically designed to offer daytime relief and support to parents and caregivers. Please note that our respite providers are unable to stay overnight or take the child overnight. Our focus is on providing temporary care and assistance during daytime hours to meet the needs of the families seeking respite services.

Funding Options
There are various funding options available to assist in supporting the fees associated with respite services. Families can explore different avenues to help cover the costs of these services, including programs such as The Special Services at Home (SSAH) program, Easter Seals, and Jordan's Principle. It is important for families to take responsibility for determining if the funding options they choose adequately cover the specific services they wish to purchase. By exploring these funding opportunities, families can access the financial support needed to benefit from respite services tailored to their needs.

Cancellation Policy
Our respite cancellation policy requires a 24-hour notice prior to canceling scheduled respite services. In the event of a cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled service, the total amount of the services canceled will be charged. This policy is in place to ensure the smooth operation of our respite services and to respect the time and commitment of our dedicated team. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in adhering to this policy.
Respite Providers
All respite providers are mandated to possess a police check, certification in first aid/CPR, and liability insurance. These requirements ensure the safety and well-being of individuals receiving respite care services. The police check helps to verify the provider's background and ensure a safe environment for the care recipient. First aid/CPR certification equips the provider with essential skills to respond to emergencies effectively. Liability insurance protects both the provider and the care recipient in case of unforeseen incidents. By meeting these criteria, respite providers demonstrate their commitment to delivering quality and secure care services.
